I'm currently house-and-dog sitting for a photographer who has a very massive collection of photography books. Not to mention stacks and stacks of various trade magazines.
This means two things: I'm in heaven and I'm not getting much done. Though, to be honest, I did shoot some 4x5 tonight and get some programming done. Just, you know, not much of either.
Oh, and I had no idea Ralph Gibson had a book called Deus Ex Machina. Just in case anyone thought that naming the chilled water project Genitalia Ex Machina was a reference.
I have a decent buffer of scans and a whole load of digital stuff that I haven't even had a chance to sort through yet, so...look for that, I suppose.
On a side note, is my abhorance of light backgrounds and colors in general in site design odd? Does it make it seem like I'm stuck in the 90's protesting the Communication Decency Act? Or do I just seem terribly uncreative?
We've changed hosting and software so bear with me while I beat this whole thing back into shape. In the mean time, you can check this out. It's where I'm tossing up a few scans.
It's already gone from the website but one of the more humorous headline mistakes I've seen at the DI happened on Friday. The official editor apology is over here. Since the DI often requires entirely pointless registration, I'll just toss you the first paragraph.
Because of editing errors on several levels, the Oct. 29 edition of The Daily Iowan contained a front-page story on the UI chapter of College Republicans with an erroneous headline. As Editor in Chief, I take full responsibility for the headline "UI Republicans work hard at preserving their delusions" and want to clarify that the story's writer, DI reporter Nick Petersen, had nothing to do with the error. I offer my sincerest apologies to the UI College Republicans and the entire university community for this misrepresentation.

Now, the funny thing here is that I didn't even realize the headline was an error until I saw the mea culpa. Seeing the headline I assumed it was a story about the study showing "resistance to information" among Bush supporters so I skipped over it. Turns out, it was a pretty standard student group profile.
And to answer the question everyone keeps asking me: No, I'm not voting today. I voted early.
